My cup runs over

by Eagy Family on May.10, 2007, under Family

Greetings from the land of diaper changes, piles of laundry, sippy cups, cold green beans and nighttime feedings! I’ve been wanting to write a post for a while, but I’ve been a bit busy adjusting to life with three “babes” under two and a half.

Just as an update on Abigail, she is a gift! God has given us this perfectly formed little person who loves to sleep, eats well and is happy as can be 99% of her days and nights. She hasn’t kept me awake at night more than about 20 minutes (just eats and goes back to sleep) at a time. Abigail is as sweet and mellow as can be. We have a gracious God, yes!!?

Along with my constant prayers for patience, patience…oh, Lord, help me to be patient with Hannah and Gabe, my heart has been praising God for the blessing of raising these three children. Most people Ryan and I encounter make comments of how crazy our lives must be now with these young children. No doubt, it’s busy here. But I sit here amazed that God saw fit to bring these 3 kids into our family. He says “Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them.” Ryan and I are happy, to say the least!

Speaking of Ryan, he is so amazing! He makes sure I’m getting everything I need, takes Hannah and Gabe on special Papa-outings to give me a break, loves on Abigail every chance he gets (her name means “Father’s Joy” - she is a joy to him!), helps with everything at home and most importantly - shows his family the love of Christ every day. What is really great about Ryan is how aware he is. He knows what I need, knows what the kids need, and helps! I’m so thankful for my wonderful husband.

So, although at times I feel buried in my motherly duties, my cup runs over and my heart is overjoyed when I consider the high calling I’m being allowed to live. This is what I’ve always wanted to do - be a wife and Mama. Thank you, Lord, for finding me worthy of this high calling! May I live it well, all for Your glory.

I love my family!

    Amen and amen!
The lowest lows in this motherhood cannot compare to the highest highs, can they? It is so wonderful - thanks for sharing your life, Katie! Love you!
