Goodness

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm 23:6

There’s a lot of goodness going around in my home these days…here’s a glimpse: I have 30 precious toes to trim, to make pitter-patter noises across the hardwood floors, and to tickle (they love this!)

Gabe has a cheekful of banana muffin for a mid-morning snack. We have a full pantry and abundance of food to nourish our family - for that I am thankful!

And we have three of the most incredible babies - we could never have imagined the blessing they are to us! Hannah, Gabe and Abigail, you warm my heart, sharpen me as a woman of God, and give me great joy to be your Mama.  Yes, surely…goodness and mercy are following me all of my days!

Family

We’re finally back! Well, over the past few weeks we’ve actually been in town every day except last weekend. Ryan’s dad and Stef treated us to a fun weekend in McCall, Idaho.

You’ll never believe it…my computer and my camera pooped out on me at the same time! Now both are back (well, the camera went to a better place so we got a new one), and I’m enjoying taking lots of pictures of the kids.

We’ve had a great week so far. I’ve enjoyed my kids in a different way (not that I didn’t enjoy them before) and God’s been good to allow me to see my role as Mama in a new, refreshing way. I’m re-reading Feminine Appeal by Carolyn Mahaney. The chapter titled “The Blessings of Loving My Children” has a great chunk of truth I’ll share with you:

Carolyn writes “What words or images come to your mind when you think about your children? Are you inclined like I was to think: work, responsibility, sacrifice, burden, more work? Look at the words the psalmist used to describe children: heritage, fruit, reward, arrows. Then he followed with this exclamation: ‘Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them!’ ”

I am asking God to help me see my children with His eyes - to be a Mama who sees them as my heritage, the fruit of my marriage, a continuous reward and a blessing, and as my little arrows. How precious these days are when they are young. And they are only young for a very brief time.

That said, I’ve had a very fun week loving on my kids. Here are some pictures to share with you (oh, and I updated our photo album with pictures from August, Sept and the trip to McCall - enjoy!).

Abigail - 4 months old

Gabe just woke up from a nap - sweet, sleepy head!

Little Miss Hannah Banana:

All three silly kids:

Check out the photo album for more pictures. Hope everyone has a great day!
