Here’s how we’ve been feeling…thankful.

Ya. Pretty much like this. And a little of this:

Oh, this has not been the most fun couple of weeks for our family! First poor Gabe got a cold, kindly shared with his Mama, then Hannah had a raging fever of up to 105 degrees. Her fever lasted 6 days (but just around 100-101), and ended up with croup and an ear infection. Aaahh, she’s now on amoxicillan and doing much better. But this sweet girl shared with her baby sister who also had an ear infection and spots on her throat. And now…poor Papa is laying low and sharing the misery.
So, with a total of 5 doctor visits, we are now on the road to feeling better - that’s my prayer! We’re finally seeing more of this:

I haven’t been able to do much other than take care of miserable kids lately. But we have been talking a lot about what we are thankful for.  Here’s a glimpse:
Hannah is thankful for her glasses, Papa, Evelyn Kircher, Pojos, the Western Idaho Fair, merry-go-rounds, Play-Doh, the Bible, Jesus, her blanket, Abigail, heaven, God, and Jesus (again). Last on her list (but certainly not least) the newest member of our family, baby Kylie Rosa Herdegen. My brother and sister-in-law welcomed their first sweet baby into their family last week. She’s a whopping 4 pounds, 1 ounce. She’s in the NICU, but breathing on her own and thriving like a champ. Can’t wait to see her (we’ve kept our distance due to all our germs!).
Gabe is thankful for Barney movies, Molly (Grampa Greg & Stef’s dog), pizza, Uncle Coby & Aunt Shauna, muffins, Dee Dee and Grampa Richard, markers, grapes, balls, firetrucks, balls, sirens, Papa and Mama. Yes, I finally made someone’s list!
If Abigail could talk, I think she’d say she’s thankful for Papa (whom she adores), her big brother and sister who make her smile and laugh, sweet potatoes that make everything else taste better, her special silky blanket, Cheerios, her tiny thumb she sucks while sleeping, and her walker - a newfound adventure.
I am thanking the Father for Jesus, my Redeemer, in whom I have everlasting life and abundant grace. And for Ryan. Ryan, you are my greatest gift apart from the cross. I love the husband you are to me and the Papa you are to our children. I love you!
And I’m thankful (hopeful) we’ll all be healthy by Thanksgiving. So Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I probably won’t blog until after then, because I’ll have my wonderful husband home from 5:00 Wednesday through the WHOLE weekend. I can’t wait!
