Happy Birthday, Abigail Alyssa!

My baby is ONE! Some highlights of her day include:

- First breakfast of cold cereal - she had Kix

- Ate poo poo. Really. She had a bath and I was drying her and getting her dressed. I thought she smelled like poop. Checked the buns. Clean. So, I got her dressed and went on doing other stuff. About 10 minutes later, I find her on the floor where I got her dressed tasting it. Oh, yuck. Thankfully this is not a common occurrence, but it still totally grossed me out. Back in the bathtub, little one! She was thrilled!

- Got balloons at Zurchers - 3 pink birthday balloons, one for each kiddo

- Lollipop from the bank - so yummy and sticky

- Bought cake mix, frosting and sprinkles at Winco

- First taste of Kool-Aid at lunch

- Played outside in the mid-70 degree weather - absolutely beautiful day! Probably the nicest spring day yet.

The birthday girl is napping now, getting ready for the cupcakes and singing later. What a precious girl she is! Abigail, you fill my days with joy and contentment. You are a delight to me, sweet girl! Happy birthday, and many more!

And an update for those who’ve asked: her finger is doing much better! It was quite infected after a week with stitches. Our pediatrician took the “dissolvable” stitches out - which never dissolved - and the next day her finger looked significantly better. The infection cleared up so fast, we couldn’t believe it. She’s enjoying Band-Aid free life!

Stitches

Can you believe it?

Abigail has three stitches in her tiny middle finger…I’m so sorry, baby girl! Your Mama accidentally closed the bathroom door on your little finger.  Oh, I’m so sorry, Abigail!  Lots of tears (from both of us!) yesterday.  Thanks, friends, for reassuring me that every mom accidentally injures their kids now and then.  I just can’t believe the first stitches for our kids happen to be on my baby girl!  She’s a trooper - not complaining of her bandages (although she likes to pick and suck on them) and only cries a bit when we have to take off old, dirty bandages to replace them with clean ones.

Sorry, Abigail!  But thank you for forgiving Mama so quickly and giving me lots of snuggles and smiles today!

Cuteness

Hannah: “Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…

(Gabe’s trying to put on gloves - can’t talk. concentrating. so. hard.)

…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…

(I think she’s forgotten why she’s trying to get his attention, but we’ll see.)

…Gabe…Gabe…Gabe…

Gabe: “Ya?”

Hannah: “Um, I like your pants.”

Gabe: “Thanks.”

(Yup, she forgot. But I think it was cuter that way!)

Sweetest Things

Some days I’m more aware of the sweetest things around me, you know? Things like…

…An adoring husband. He works so he can be HOME with us as much as possible, not to get away from us! A husband who so desires to teach our kids the Word. And my dear husband who earnestly desires to provide for my needs in the way that would most bless me. I love you, Ryan…

…A healthy family! Our kids have had some odd fevers over the last few weeks that didn’t progress into a sickness - for that I’m thankful! And in the everyday stuff, like having full tummies whenever we want food. Ryan and I often are amazed that we don’t feel like we “need” anything else - we’re so blessed!

…Abigail snuggling into my neck when I get her up from a nap, smearing her snotty nose all over my neck. And I just hold her closer, sweet little thing!

…Hannah and Gabe giving each other hugs that make them both fall over. And they crack up over it.

…Family close by. We spent the morning with Ryan’s Grammy. What a treat for the kids - Hannah and Gabe talked the entire time, they couldn’t get enough of her loving attention! We’re so blessed to be within minutes of our parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins, and aunts & uncles. Thanks for offering to bring over slushies, Grampa Greg!

…Our kids love to play together!

…And so much more. God is so good! Hope you’re all having a great week!  Oh, also…if you want to check out our photos, click on the sidebar link “Eagy Family Photo Album.” At this point, I’m up-to-date with all our pictures.  Enjoy!
