-2008- Year in Review

by Eagy Family on Dec.21, 2008, under Family

Merry Christmas! There’s nothing like the Christmas season: kids playing in the snow, looking at Christmas lights, making and decorating cookies, buying gifts…and the joy that is renewed remembering the greatest gift ever given - Jesus!

With the end of 2008 in sight, we thought it would be fun to remember all the fun we had this year! We’ll start with “baby boy” who will be making his grand appearance sometime around Gabe’s birthday (January 20th). He’s super active, never giving Mama a cause for concern. He’ll be our third winter baby making all the activity around Christmas even more fun for our family. We’re still praying over his name and very excited to meet our little guy. Check our blog through January to see updates!

ABIGAIL: What a difference a year makes when you grow from 8 months to 20 months! Our once mellow, quiet and content little lady has developed her own personality and opinions to share! Abigail has gone from no-mobility (she wasn’t even crawling at Christmas last year!) to a runner - our earliest runner - and keeping up with Hannah and Gabe whenever possible. She’s talking an astounding amount. Our favorites including “I love you, Papa…I love you, Mama…I toot…I burp…thank you, Mama…poo poo, change it” and asking “why” or “where” after pretty much anything we say. Last Sunday we went sledding on some hills in our field and she dove onto the sled head-first every time. She’s always ready for some crazy fun!

GABRIEL: Growing from almost 2 to almost 3 years old, Gabe has become quite the little man of the house! He’s super excited for a little brother because his sisters don’t tolerate his desire to tackle and wrestle very often! He loves to be the “man” while Papa is gone - holding doors for the ladies, letting them go first, and pretending to be army men, police men, firemen and anything else that has a protective role. Currently he wants to be a cowboy when he grows up! He still shows extended family members his “new” bunk bed (bought in the summer) and loves sharing a room with Hannah. Actually, he loves anything Hannah is doing, wearing, eating, saying, wanting…leading to lots of learning about sharing lessons. We each hear “I love you’s” from Gabe about 10 times a day!

HANNAH: Just turned 4 years old…but her little mind can think like she’ much older most days! Soaking in anything to do with learning, she can sound out most words and is beginning to read! She loves art projects, computer learning games, making jewelery, and being a mama to her babies. Hannah completed her first year of soccer with Papa has her coach and couldn’t wait for each game to finally come every Saturday! She is also in her first year of AWANA learning to write the Word on her heart and growing in her knowledge of Bible stories. She’s making friends, loves playing with her siblings, and can’t wait to help Mama with the new baby boy. Hannah would read library books all day if we could keep up with her! Her sweet, loving heart is a joy to see.

Ryan and I are doing great! We celebrated 8 years of marriage in August. I’m so thankful Ryan works hard to allow me to stay home and raise our children. I can’t imagine missing all the smiles, laughter, challenging moments, teaching lessons, the things they say and everything they experience in a day. I know how blessed I am to be home with them. Ryan’s business is going well despite the changing economy. He’s thankful to work for himself, able to spend extra time loving on his kids and helping me when he can. Ryan surprised me with a trip to McCall over my birthday. He even invited my parents for a part of the trip so we could have some time alone! We enjoyed Ryan’s sister Shauna’s wedding in January and experienced enough snow-play to last us until this winter.

We had our home for sale for most of the year, beginning in February and lasting until *yesterday* when we ended our contract with the Realtor. So our home is ours for another Christmas and we’re so thankful for warmth, comfort, and all that we have. We’ve learned much about trusting in God’s timing and provision and knowing how blessed we are having this home we love. We’ve brought all of our children into our family while living in this house! We’ll see if the near future holds a different home for us!

We have begun helping with the children’s ministry at our church, Faith Community Bible Church. We’ve made some great friends and grown in God. We pray your year has been full of His blessings and grace, growing you closer to Jesus. Bless you this Christmas season as we celebrate the birth of our Savior!

Love, the Eagys
